information of 3-9-99 Meeting
Kinky's House @ 7:30 p.m.
Hey all you Pioneers out there,
Before I start on the minutes (rather hours) of the meeting let's all give a big welcome
to Dr. Steve "Knob" Alexander and Don Harmon to the BHS e-mail group. For those
of you that don't know Steve is the local sawbones in Batesville (I'm not sure if he still
lances boils) and Don is the El presidente of Jimco, a huge lamp manufacturing business in
Bono (Jonesboro). Hey Don do we all get discounts on lamps? Glad to have you guys aboard.
Well we finally had another meeting. Present were Martha Sue, Susie, Linda C, Kinky and
myself. The meeting was not called to order it just kind of happened. We discussed the
meal cost, horse diver trays and alcoholic and those other beverages. Luckily we had Susie
there and she knew all the fancy wine names. Linda and I thought Boone's Farm was the only
winemaker but Susie didn't know any of the different flavors, Tickle Pink, Wild Mountain
Grape or Kountry Kwencher so we are going to serve something out of a box called Merlot
and Chardonnay. Kinky had some of the stuff in a box and we all had some (been a long time
since I had wine where you didn't screw off the lid). We will also have a keg of beer and
bar drinks and soft drinks will be available. There will also be hors d'oeuvres (see I do
know what they are called) This will be Friday night.
We added up all the costs involved and decided to charge the same as we did at the 20 year
reunion, $50 a couple and $25 single. We decided not to invite teachers primarily because
Susie remembered the 10 year when she sat by Mrs. Newton and across from Ms. McGill. Mrs.
Newton reminded Susie about the time she caught her cheating off Danny Dozier and told her
if she was going to cheat she should pick someone besides Danny (no offense Danny). Susie
was embarrassed because Ms. McGill heard her. So no Teachers.
We also decided that I should get the invitations out within the next two weeks so I'll be
doing that chore shortly. I am wrestling with whether it is "30 year reunion" or
"30th year reunion", any wordsmiths out there that can help? I want to make our
English Teachers proud (Harold you probably still remember).
I got some new pictures from Kinky and will try to get them on shortly. I will e-mail
everyone when I do. Martha Sue was getting tired about 9 and started trying to get Susie
to leave. We wrapped up and the next meeting will be when I get the invites out and we
start getting them back.
Susie is threatening to learn to operate her e-mail which she has but doesn't know how
to work, we will see how that goes.
