Minutes of BHS Class of 1969 Meeting Well classmates the time is drawing near. In only seven weeks we will all be gathered together again to reminisce. We had quite an entertaining meeting again Monday night. We even had a guest classmate from out of town and a new member. John Miller was in from Salt Lake City and Danny Dozier drove two blocks. Kinky was ready for those that the smoke bothered with full regalia of plastic hair cover and filter mask. We took a picture and will post it soon. Martha Sue Newsom (no "e" on the end)-Smith was getting a little nervous about the head count so we decided to spend some money and call everyone that we didn't know about. (We are suppose to pay Kinky back for the phone calls) It was somewhat difficult talking on the phone with everyone yacking and laughing but we managed to get in touch with several of you and confirm your attendance. Here are the ones I can remember that we got in touch with or left messages (actually MSS wrote them down if it were a list from my memory it would be an extremely short list) Gwen Cason, Becky Ford, Kay Cavaness, Jimmy Doherty, Grant Williams, Mary "Sissy" Robertson, Linda Wood, Marilyn Elembaugh, Jane Atkinson, Becky Cooke, Karen Callis, Harold Jones, Steve Henry, Ricky DeFreece, Sue Anne Jenkerson, Gary Leonard, Steve Alexander, Peggy Stroud, Gary Loggains, and Stan Taylor and Angie Clark. We had to leave several messages, Karen Callis was tanning, Sue Anne was working outside on her igloo, Harold was gone (I talked to someone and thought surely it was one of his 6 kids but it was his niece; how many people you got living there Harold?), Steve Alexander was either cutting on someone or at a kid's baseball game, Ricky DeFreece wasn't home, nor was Steve Henry. I talked to Angie Clark but she can't come cause her 13 year old is playing in a ball tournament (don't we all know how that is; although I'll have to say I enjoyed the ball tournaments more than the dance recitals) Cyber Susie was entertaining as always and repeated her Fayetteville Jail story and her sister Carol's story about ordering what they thought were 3 cheeseburgers at the Pizza Inn but figured out when it was over $20 for the three it was not cheeseburgers but cheeseburger pizzas. She also reminded us of the 10 year when Harold stated that he had the dubious honor of presiding and everyone looked at each other to try to figure out what dubious meant. Danny Dozier came in and after a few minutes reached for a brew and asked if anyone wanted a Bud Light. Susie responded why would I want a Blue Light? Martha Sue told us to read between her mind. Susie sang "The Heat is On" everytime we called someone in reference to the time being short and we needed to know. Susie also reminded us of the speech in Mrs. Henley's class on Hemmrods. I tried to take notes but just like in school I am having a hard time making heads or tails of them. We did decide to meet again next Monday night so I will try to do better. Please let us know if you are coming or not coming (Is that like RSVP?). John |
