Post Reunion

7/25/99

The Class of 69 30th year reunion is in the history books. It is with tired and weary fingers I type this message. I sure am glad this only happens once every 10 years. But it was worth all the planning and meetings to see everyone have a good time.

In the coming weeks I will recap the events of the last two days. Suffice it to say that a good time was had by all, from the endless reacquainting to the sing-a-thon in the wee hours of Sunday morning, laughter and fun were the main ingredient.

It was really good to see everyone again, especially the classmates I hadn't seen in 30 years. I suppose it is that special bond that we all share from growing up together during those difficult but fun filled teenage years and the completion of that monumental task of graduating from high school. Now we share the trials and tribulations* of adulthood, gold crowns and Ibuprofen.

On behalf of the Reunion Committee, myself, Linda Creech, Susie Craig, Martha Sue and Kinky, we want all the attendees to know that we really appreciate your coming, a large attendance made the work satisfying. We also thank you for the accolades laid upon us at the reunion.

Well I have to get ready to go play golf so I will close for now. Check you e-mail often in the coming weeks.

*(tribulations are unpredictable changes Susie, I didn't mean to sound like Harold)

TTFN,

John

Hey everyone. Just a short note and reference. There is an article in the Guard about our former principal Mr. Huddleston. http://www.guardonline.com/opinion.html

If you miss it today I will have it on the BHS 69 website later this week.

Still recovering,

John

Hey everyone,

Got a few minutes and thought I would catch you up on the post goings on here. John Miller is still hanging around and will be here till next Sunday. We were going to have a post reunion meeting but Kinky is working tomorrow night on his new lake house so we have scheduled it for August 12th. Harriet will be back in town then and we have one box of wine left over from the reunion (See I told you Susie we should have bought Boone's Farm!)

Thanks again for all the Thank You's from everyone. We think most everyone had a great time and all you that missed it we feel sorry for you.

We are kicking around the idea of having an annual get together type thing in Spring, just kind of a one day shoot the bull session and cookout (although this may just be a temporary euphoric after effect of the reunion which will demise in a few weeks), anyway we will keep you posted.

I have posted all the pictures that I took (at least the ones that you can make out who they are, my wife took most of them).

They are located here: http://www.bhs1969.com/bhs/30%20year/pictures1.htm

I'm still having some problems with the 3rd page and clicking on them but I will try to work it out later tonight.

I am hoping others will send in some pictures either by email or snail mail (I will scan them and return them unharmed, or if you want to have copies made and send them we may start a scrapbook of the three reunions).

Just got off the phone with Martha Sue Newsom-Smith (hereinafter referred to as MSS) and we joked and talked about all of you. It was good talk.

Well off to work I go. Keep in touch.

TTFN,

John

Hey everyone I got the pictures fixed on the "2nd Saturday Night" page (http://www.bhs1969.com/bhs/30%20year/pictures3.htm). Small technical boo boo on my part. I also started a recap of the weekend events.

Please email me your thoughts, stories, suggestions, etc. about the reunion and I will start a page for that.

I should be getting some more pictures in the near future when everyone gets them developed and of course I will put the group picture on.

Enjoy!

John
