Dog bites man, Newport beats Batesville in football: not news, man bites dog, Batesville beats Newport: that's News! For those of you that didn't know, Batesville beat Newport for the first time since my wife was a Senior (that would be the fall of 1975). I meant to get this news to you before today so you could see the Guard article but I was somewhat remiss in my reporting. Anyway the score was 27-17 I think and the crowd hung around the Newport football field for about a half hour after the game. There was a police escort and lots of horn honking when they returned to Batesville about 12:30 a.m. Big news in the city.

Not much else going on, Kinky's people and my people finally got together and we are going to do the lunch thing tomorrow at the Chinese place (we can smoke there Danny), so I can catch up on all the goings on in the city. I think Kinky knows everyone in Batesville. He howdys with most everyone that comes in the restaurant.

MSS sent me the latest on the website donations and here they are:

Nancy Burdick $25.00, Jackie Sharp $50.00, Vaughn Blue $20.00, Grant Williams $20.00, Kinky

$20.00, Jane McMullin $20.00, Don Harmon $40.00, David Taylor $20.00, Kay Cavaness

$10.00, Linda Arnold $25.00, & Steve Henry $20.00.

Thanks to all of you.

My daughter had her wisdom teeth out last Friday (where's that dental insurance when you need it?) and is recuperating nicely. She had to have a double shot of Demerol because she is not a big fan of pain and her anxiety level was pretty high. She's not quite as bad as my little sister Jane. David and Steven's dad had to chase her around the dental office and watch her closely or she would get up and run off.

John Miller sent me the Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll and I will post it on the website later. He also sent an accompanying picture of a Jabberwocky. The first time I have ever seen one, what a beast.

Patsy Lee had quite the Halloween party it seems. I'll put that on the website. There were comments from some of the partygoers complimenting her on the party.

Well off to bed I go.

Peace,

John
