Most unusual thing:  Do you remember when we were in about the 5th grade and we got pen pals?  We could choose what country we wanted to write to and I chose Australia.  My pen pals name was John Coope and he was a lot better letter writer than I.  We communicated for a year or so and I got lazy and quit writing.  He continued to write from time to time and sent me all kind of things to do with Australia.  Once he sent me and Opal matrix that was mined there.  He even called one time about 5 years ago on my birthday.  I was sound asleep at about 2:30 a.m. in the morning.  It was the middle of the day over there.  About a year ago he called and said he was on a trip going to several countries and would be coming to the U. S.   He said he would like to come to Batesville and meet me and my family.  He flew in to Little Rock and I told him I would drive down and pick him up at the airport.  He hadn't sent me any recent Photo's so I didn't really know how I would recognize him.  I went to the terminal where his plane was arriving and watched the passengers walk in one at a  time.  I had on an Australian T-Shirt that he had sent me so I thought he would recognize me.  Nobody stopped and looked around like it could be him so I started walking back to another terminal.  As I was walking I saw a man in khaki pants with a big belt buckle that had a map of Australia on it.  I asked him if he might be John Coope and he said you must be Danny Dozier with a heavy Australian accent.  I had a hard time understanding him as we drove toward Batesville, his accent was very heavy and with substantial hearing loss from playing too much loud music, I just nodded my head a lot.  He spent 3 days here in Batesville and I tried to show him all of the sites.  He seemed to enjoy his visit and I took him back to Little Rock where he was to continue his travels to several more countries.  So that is my unusual thing to share with you.

Do you remember when I used to be in a band with John Vinson.  John played drums and I think Chris Sims played guitar.  We ere called the Gestapo and one of our gigs was at somebody's parents house.  We were set up in the back of a pickup truck and everybody danced in the driveway.  Those were the gold ole' days.
